The Empire’s Edge is a composition for violin, viola, cello and double bass,
created by Hein van de Geyn.
It was inspired by Frans van Lent’s installation Muur, exhibited in the Kunstkerk in Dordrecht in 2004.
The installation Muur came about as a result of his walk along Hadrian’s Wall in 2003.
Hadrian’s Wall was built in Northern England in the second century AD
as a fortified border of the (Roman) Empire.
