The Nieuwstraat is an average street in the centre of Dordrecht. In this street you will find trees, houses, shops, terraces, a cinema and a weekly market. On an unannounced Saturday in July 2025, between sunrise and midnight, the 3rd Nieuwstraat Festival will take place.
The performances take place in everyday settings, hiding the unusual within the ordinary. Passers-by will perceive the acts but, outside of a distinctive artistic context, may not recognise them as performances. Performative concepts for the festival can be submitted by artists who feel related to the theme and principles. There are no restrictions regarding places of residence, age and backgrounds.
The works will be performed by volunteers, unannounced and without explanation.

Open Call 2, the performers:
We are looking for committed volunteers to conduct the performances. Experience is not required. However, it is important that you agree with the ( discreet) nature of the festival and that cooperation within a team appeals to you.
