Muur

While walking along Hadrian wall, I shot a video hand-held with a long lens.
In the installation Muur, I projected this video on both sides on a wall of cellular concrete blocks.
Video stills alternate with moving images.

Two conceptually connected walks:

From sea to sea
A walk from Newcastle upon Tyne to Bowness-on-Solway (UK),
from the east coast of England to the west coast of England:
land on my left and land on my right side.

From land to land
A walk along the Afsluitdijk (NL),
from Den Oever on the east coast of North Holland to Zurich on the west coast of Friesland:
(sea) water on my left and (fresh) water on my right side.

a residency project

A panoramic landscape photograph was divided into eight equal parts.
Each section was the starting point for a walk through the area behind it.
The walks took place over 8 days. During these walks,
I improvised short video sequences, inspired by the landscape.
